Adrian Hudman's 64 Fairlane 500 Aussie
· 1964 Fairlane 500. In The years 62 to 64 Australian Ford Company had started
making the Australian Falcon but had not the capacity to produce a larger
model to complement the range, so it was decided to import the American
Compact and construct over here in right hand drive with Australian
Compliance plates. This was done until the first fully Australian Produced
ZA Fairlane in 65.
My Car Started life in Perth as a Black government consulate Car with a
260ci two speed auto.
The only other history I know was around 15 years ago it was painted white,
had a 289ci installed and completed a Bash race. The 'Variety Bash' is a
race through the Australian Desert for cars built before 1974, or there
abouts. Heaps of info on Google if you key in that name.
I Found the Car in the condition you would imagine after a Bash. It had
however no major damage and no rust. I prepped for paint over 8 months in my
driveway. Taking advice from anybody as I had never done it before.
Paint is Subaru WRX Would rally Blue. Car has been lowered 2 inch.
Wheels are 18 inch CSA Retro's.
