Mike Sharp's 1970 Torino GT Convertible
· I was in the Army National Guard when the 1970 Torino's were new. But at the time I could not afford one because I had a wife and young daughter. In November of 2002 I retired from Ford Motor Company and went on the search for a Torino. The one I found was wrecked and missing an engine. After approximately five years I completed a full restoration of the car.I installed a 429 C.I. engine with a Comp Cam Kit, Weiand and Offenhauser aluminum parts to give it a little better performance. It has a C-6 transmission with a 3:70 Traction Lock 9 inch rear end.The paint is Dupont Amber Glo Sunset applied by Rich Lakes of Hamilton.
The Torino makes a great cruiser and driver to the car shows in Southwestern Ohio.
